I have always had a passion for dogs and couldn’t imagine life without them. My parents bought me my first dog when I was 2 years old and dogs have been a huge part of my life ever since. From a very young age I knew I was destined to have a career working with dogs.
I started my career in 2008 as a Breeding Attendant for Guide Dogs QLD. Not long after I was offered a Guide Dog training cadetship and 18 months later became a qualified Guide Dog Trainer. Training dogs for the visually impaired was such a rewarding a job and it really opened my eyes as to how wonderful, loyal and intelligent dogs really are. Due to personal reasons I left Guide Dog in 2013, unsure if I would ever find such a rewarding job again. Then I found Smart Pups.
Smart Pups is such an amazing charity and I feel truly blessed to be apart of the team. It is very easy to get out of bed and go to work each morning knowing that not only am I working with some amazing dogs but also helping children with special needs and their families. I couldn’t think of a more rewarding job.
