Every dollar counts and goes directly to the cost of raising and training a Smart Pups assistance dog.
Smart Pups Assistance Dogs is a dedicated not-for-profit organisation based on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. We specialise in providing trained service dogs to assist children with special needs. Our goal is to improve the quality of life of children with autism and seizure related syndromes through training our dogs in ‘task specific’ skills. Our Smart Pups reduce stress levels in children and have a profound effect on the day-to-day lives of the child and family. These positive changes continue as the bond and relationship between child and Smart Pup grows over time.

We are donating our movember raised money to smart pups for 2018. If there is a puppy that we could name it would be ‘Ove’ – as this was the name of the gentleman that started our organisation man many years ago.

Posted at 08:42h, 16 AugustThank you for your work. We were investigating adopting Fabulous Flunky, Vader. Whilst we were very tempted, now is not the right time for us to take on a puppy due to family, home and work circumstances but we hope to be better placed to do so in the future. I wanted to thank the admin staff and trainer, Belinda, who looked after us very well. We want to wish Vader a wonderful life with his new family. So sad it won’t be us.

Posted at 14:50h, 28 MarchI would have taken a puppy to help raise (in a blink), but the commute to Eumundi was too much for us… (Over 5 hours per weekend), so even though we are on limited income, I still wish to support, whenever I can.
Please don’t ramp up marketing to me because of my donation- it breaks my heart I can’t do more. I already gratefully receive your email newsletters and check your web site. we have made the trip up to the kennels to drop off towels for puppy drying. I will help whenever I can.
Good luck during these difficult times and if you need a pup cared fo, for some reason (without the long commute) We’d be happy to discuss. We live on the other end of the Sunshine Coast.

Posted at 14:04h, 10 FebruaryEach year at EFM Health Clubs Noosaville we run a “Maintain Don’t Gain” challenge over Christmas and New Year. Entry is $10. The challenge is to maintain your weight and to not gain weight, over the festive season! If entrants manage to maintain their weight, or lose weight, they can have their $10 back. If entrants gain weight, we donate their $10 to charity! Donating $340 makes is look like everyone gained weight, BUT, actually, most of the members at EFM Noosaville lost weight but chose to donate their entry fee to charity. The member who lost the most weight was given the choice of which charity should receive the donation and she chose Smartpups! We hope it helps!

Posted at 10:09h, 15 NovemberOur daughter Lucy, (Grade 2) has been finding her maths work tricky. Her lovely prep teacher from a few years ago offered to tutor her weekly and won’t let us remunerate her. Instead, she has suggested to donate to a charity of Lucys choice.
Lucy loves dogs – big, small, working, support/companion, police etc… She always has since around 2 years old. She purchased a Smart Pup toy from our local IGA a few years ago and when we read about your charity, it seemed a perfect fit for this donation. Supporting children (the tutor/teachers passion) and Lucys favourite animal won our vote!
