Smart Pup for Liam

Smart Pup for Liam

Our hope is that an assistance dog would be able to help make Liam’s life a little easier. Whether it be acting as a anchor if he tries to run or helping provide deep pressure when Liam gets overwhelmed in public situations or at home. Not only will an assistance dog help Liam but also our other 5 children because then we can go out as a family.

For those who dont know Liam, he has UNLIMITED energy! the Energizer bunny as we say ….
He loves to run, jump, climb on everything in sight. He absolutely has no fear and no sense at all for his personal safety and others. If the mood strikes him he is extremely likely to climb over the fence and take off, he runs on road with car close by, he goes to the park down the road or in the neighbours yards. This is our biggest fear for both Alan and myself, esspecially with school starting next year.
Liam also gets over stimulated when this happens, he has no idea of who or what is around him, we hope that an assistance dog will help keep him in the “here and now” helping him to focus on the dog with touch and play.
Our main goal is to help Liam be as independent and safe as possible, but still be there for him whenever he needs a helping hand we would do anything for our kids and we belive that an assistance dog would make the world of difference for Liam.

Any contribution towards our goal would be deeply appreciated more than words could ever say. This organisation is a non for-profit organisation and we feel well and truly honoured to have been chosen. The training for the pup can take 12-18 months but it is intense, and these dogs are just incredible.

Your donation no matter how small would be greatly appreciated.

As someone who works with children with autism (and a dog enthusiast!), I understand how much an assistance dog can improve the well-being of that child.

I was lucky enough to be Amy’s makeup artist for jer wedding and the love the family have for their children is a beautiful thing. As a parent i cant imagine feeling like i couldnt leave the house without the worry of what might happen. A little goes a lkng way and if this helps ease the stress a little then why not xx
