18 Sep Smart Pup for Mackenzie
At 18 months old Mackenzie was unfortunately diagnosed with Genetic Epilepsy after a Tonic Clonic seizure.
Mackenzie is now almost 5 years old and continues to battle daily with seizures and the side effects of them. Mackenzie continues to trial medications and at some stages, is on 3 or 4 different types at once, but to this day, we have been unable to find one that will control her seizures.
As she gets older, her confidence and anxiety get worse with each seizure. We are stuck between her wanting to be independent, to not being able to in case she has a seizure. After months of discussing different alerting systems, trying out watches, bed mats and monitors, we have come to the decision that an Assistant Dog would not only benefit Mackenzie by allowing us to be notified of a seizure, but also giving her the confidence to have the independence that she needs. We appreciate any donation that can be made towards our campaign and hope to allow Mackenzie to live her live as a normal 5 year old
Your donation will be greatly appreciated no matter how big or small. This organisation is a non for-profit organisation. The training for the pup can take 12-14 months but it is intense, and these dogs are just incredible.
