28 Aug Smart Pup for Robbie
Robbie is a very busy, animal crazy, country kid. He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetics 4 months ago. Our lives have been turned upside down as we come to terms managing his diabetes.
Robbie was diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes 4 months ago after falling very ill and ending up in ICU in Marlborough hospital. It was a very frightening time for us not knowing if he was going to pull through.
Robbie’s day to day life now means 4 insulin injections every day and blood glucose finger pricking tests throughout the day and night.
He has a lot of dangerously low and high blood glucose levels specially at night which can cause seizures or strokes.
We have been accepted for a Smart Pup to assist Robbie and be his full time companion alerting me to an low or high blood glucose levels which Robbie constantly has.
Having a Smart pup would be life changing for Robbie, who is also very excited about having an assistance dog, as this pup will be his companion and “furry alarm”24/7 which will also give our family peace of mind.
This pup will bring so much love and piece of mind to our lives especially Robbie’s.
Your donation will be greatly appreciated no matter how big or small. This organisation is a non for-profit organisation. The training for the pup can take 12-18 months but it is intense, and these dogs are just incredible.
Thank you for your donation! All donations over $2 are tax deductible.

My brother has terminal brain cancer and his name is Robert so i felt it was a sign to help Robbie. All the best on your journey and as my brother says “Stay strong”.
