08 Feb Smart Pup for Sean
Sean is a five year old boy who lives with his mum, dad and older sister. Sean, just like any child his age, is active, inquisitive and often very excitable. He loves Sonic the Hedgehog, Mario and Luigi, Paw Patrol and recently, has been excited at the prospect of water balloon fights in the hot weather.
Sean isn’t always keen on sitting down to write or draw but loves his blocks and playdough. Sean likes to watch other children and will sometimes copy them. He’s still learning how to talk to other people and to play alongside them. Sean is starting full time school this year.
On a good day Sean is happy, friendly and loves to talk. For Sean and his family, the good days are often followed by some not so good ones. Sean has Autism and for him it means he often becomes overwhelmed with noise and finds it difficult to manage his emotions. Sometimes this means a day of tears, yelling, pushing and crying while the people around him try their best to settle him and keep him calm.
For Sean’s family, the most important thing is for him to reach the potential they know he is capable of. Part of helping Sean stay calm and manage the times he finds difficult would be access to an an assistance animal, which is why his father John started the journey with Smart Pups in 2018.
This organisation is a non for-profit organisation and we feel well and truly honoured to have been chosen. The training for the pup can take 12-18 months but it is intense, and these dogs are just incredible.
Your donation no matter how small would be greatly appreciated.
