Asha is often hospitalised with fractures, dislocations, and other more serious complications like CSF leaks (leakage of spinal fluid) and this is unfortunately expected to continue. Despite this, Asha is a very positive person but would like an Assistance dog to accompany her on these lonely journey’s (often interstate away from friends and family) and help reduce her anxiety during her hospital stays and specialist visits. As well as being a companion to Asha, the assistance dog will help her perform daily tasks that she finds difficult, such as helping her with her wheelchair, retrieving items she has dropped, reducing her anxiety due to postural-orthostatic-tachycardia syndrome and even pushing the traffic light buttons! Asha often needs help performing daily tasks, however, as she is getting older she would like some more independence, like any other kid. Asha would love an Assistance dog and feels it will vastly improve her life, from social to physical. The smart pup will be deeply beneficial to Asha, by helping her have the most normal life she can and providing a loving companion on the toughest days recovering from surgery.
