He reacts to most situations in frustration as he doesn’t know how to navigate the world we live in. He is unable to ask for help as he only speaks to a selected few and when he does ask for help he struggles to regulate then putting those words into actions.

Jack is currently going through testing for epilepsy, Chiari Malformation and a connective tissue disorder called Loey’s Dietz Syndrome. If he has this condition Jack will spend lots of time in hospital recovering from surgeries and having lots of tests yearly to ensure he is remaining healthy, he will be seeing a heap of different specialists and this is something that Jack will find very hard to handle.

Our aim for a Smart Pups Assistance dog is to help Jack navigate his life with a brighter and safer outlook. Smart pups are trained to disrupt negative behaviour like anger outbursts and frustrations, social anxiety and self harm.

Jack isn’t the best sleeper and often his little brain won’t shut off and sleep, his new dog will be trained to sleep with him and provide the support and comfort he needs to drift of at night and hopefully with this he will then in turn wake up a much happier boy.

Training a Smart pup takes so much time and money especially because the pup will most likely need additional training to recognise seizure and aneurisms potentially.
Our goal is to raise $20,000 to pay for our puppy to be trained. This is a massive goal and something that we simply can not do by ourselves.
We thought long and hard before deciding to fundraise this money as we have always strived to work hard and provide as best we can, however it will take a long time for us to save the amount we require and Jack will benefit so much from getting his puppy. This puppy will be his best friend, it will be the only thing that will understand Jack and be able to be by his side to give the support he needs.
