29 May Smart Pup for Jaxon – (38216)
Hi my Name is Tanika, I am Jaxons mummy. Jaxon was born 30/08/2016 within the first year of his life Jaxon struggled with tonsilitis and gasping for air in his sleep by 2018 when he was 1.5 he had his tonsils removed. A year later in 2019 Jaxon was diagnosed with T1D over Easter.
In Febuary 2020 Jaxon got his Pump, and CGM through out tho s time Jaxon kept ripping.his CGM and his cannula for his pump off due to allergies from the tape. The tape would leave burn marks, red dry rash and he would be in pain from this. During this he has been going in and out of the hospital to treat DKA (Diabetes ketones acidices) which is very dangerous it could make him very sick. Since he was diagnosed with T1D I have done extensive research and found a way for him to not only have a new friend but a way for his sugars to stay ok and that is with a diabetes alert dog. The dog will alert us when his sugars are going low and when they are going high. When I sleep the dog will come up to me and to Jaxon and wake us up to get us to test sugars and to treat the low or high. This will also help Jaxons mummy to allow her to sleep through the night.
