Sleep has been problematic since Pip was 6 months old. She has trouble going to sleep and often wakes for hours in the middle of the night. Pip is often distressed and resorts to head banging and vocal outbursts that can wake and keep the entire family awake for the duration. Her Smart Pup will be trained to comfort and nuzzle her when she wakes so she may fall back to sleep without distress. This will benefit the entire family.

Pip has no awareness of personal safety and when in public, she often wanders/runs off. Pip is tethered to her dog whilst out and the dog is trained to lie down should she try to run away. This is particularly important when the family is out and about and near roadways.

The Smart Pup is also trained to disrupt negative behaviours such as head banging and becomes a “social bridge” for Pip, who is often unsure of how to interact with others.

We need to raise a minimum of $20,000 of the $30,000 it will cost to raise and train Pip’s Smart Pup. Donations of $2 or more are fully tax deductible and any amount you can spare goes directly towards Pip’s dog.
