A Smart Pup

Smart Pups is dedicated to helping make the lives of Australian families with special needs children a little easier by providing them with a trained and accredited Assistance Dog. We raise and train carefully selected Golden Retriever and Labrador puppies to meet the specific needs of its special needs child.

Would you like to become a foster?

We are always looking for loving foster families to adopt a Smart Pup for the duration of its training. Foster Carers will care for a puppy from when it is eight to 10 weeks old until they enter the final stages of training at around 12 months of age.

Fund-raise for Smart Pups at your local community event

We continue to be blown away by the generosity of community groups and schools that help us raise much-needed funds for our Smart Pups training. If you’d like to get involved and help keep our organisation running, we’d love to hear from you.

Every dollar helps

Smart Pups is a registered not-for-profit charity and relies on donations and fund raising in order to continue the work of raising and training Assistance Dogs for special needs children. It costs $25,000 for every dog that is placed with a child.
